The University of Lomé has a health space located at the Center des Œuvres Universitaires de Lomé (COUL). Headed by a chief physician, the Medico-psycho-social Division (DMPS) of COUL offers curative, preventive and promotional health services to students and staff of the University of Lomé.
Consultations are free and take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., continuously, with observation if necessary. However, discussions are underway to provide the COUL medical-social center with a childcare service.
The DMPS also carries out medical examinations for students (at each academic year) and staff at the University of Lomé. It is equipped with an ambulance for medical evacuation needs.
It has, with the support of the Togolese Association for Family Well-being (ATBEF), a sexual health and reproduction unit for young people. This unit supports young people on issues of contraception and prevention of sexually transmitted infections. With other partners, it organizes information, education and communication (IEC) activities for students.
Finally, the COUL has a Psychosocial Division whose mission is to assist needy or sick students. The said division is responsible in particular for:
