The accommodation request is made online, at the start of the year at the time of academic registration on the UL website.
The UL currently has six functional cities. These are cities A, B, D, E, F and the Foyer city for around 800 beds. Ultimately, the Foyer city will be transformed into a UL guest house and the C city, currently abandoned, will be rehabilitated. The renovation work started on the housing estates continues and takes into account the housing estates D, E and F, located on the North campus. Furthermore, the presidency of the UL is working to build new cities to increase the accommodation capacity of the institution.
All students regularly registered at the University of Lomé, whether foreign or not, can request a room at the city. However, preferential treatment is granted to refugees, to associations which pay for the education of orphaned students and to people with reduced mobility. Furthermore, exceptionally, thanks to an agreement between the two institutions, a quota of foreign students from IRES-RDEC are also housed in the university campuses of Lomé.
All security measures in force in university campuses are taken to ensure a good stay for students and guests of the University of Lomé.
Depending on whether you are Togolese/African from the UEMOA area or a student coming from other geographical areas, the prices differ. Thus, Togolese/Africans from the UEMOA area pay 12,500 FCFA/month for single rooms in city B, while students elsewhere pay 20,000 FCFA for the same rooms. For the other renovated cities, Togolese/Africans from the UEMOA area pay 5,000 FCFA/month (double rooms) while students from elsewhere pay 8,000 FCFA/month for the same rooms. The cost of rooms in unrenovated cities (reserved for nationals) is set at 2,000 FCFA/month. Apart from these costs, each student selected for accommodation must pay an annual lump sum of 1,000 FCFA as a security tax. The period of university accommodation runs from November (start of the academic year) to August 15 (end of the academic year). On the due date, all students will have to vacate occupied rooms at the risk of being refused accommodation the following year.
