The External Relations Division of DIRECOOPS

The External Relations Division is one of the three divisions of DIRECOOPS. It has three sections: the legal section, the international relations section and the project support section. In accordance with the mission letter of the President of the University of Lomé, the DRE’s task is to work for the internal and external promotion of the University of Lomé through the negotiation and signing of agreements with partners. safe and credible. It contributes to making UL the leading development partner of Togo and for this, it ensures, in accordance with the different axes of the National Development Plan (PND), the monitoring and evaluation of projects initiated at the University of Lomé. The stated objective is to make the UL a true hub of economic and socio-cultural development in Togo and the West African sub-region.

Its main tasks are:

Legal section

  • Draft the agreements binding the UL to its partners;
  • Strengthen and popularize the legal framework for cooperation;
  • Monitor and evaluate the signed agreements (through the annual reports produced by the holders of the agreements relating to the various activities carried out within the framework of these agreements);
  • Reactivate non-active agreements and renew expired agreements;
  • Create and manage the conventions database.

International Relations Section

  • Implement the foreign policy of the UL;
  • Promote and develop the international relations of the UL in institutional, thematic networks, etc.
  • Open the UL internationally through the development of bilateral and multilateral relations with targeted partners recognized for their qualities;
  • Revitalize existing cooperation and seek avenues for new, more effective cooperation;
  • Promote local cooperation, particularly with sister universities in the sub-region, whether French-speaking or English-speaking.

Project support section

  • Create a register of projects at the University of Lomé;
  • List all projects currently being implemented at the University of Lomé and classify them by field;
  • Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of these projects;
  • Lead a consultation framework for the various project coordinators at the University of Lomé to share experience in project management;
  • Develop a global annual report on project management at the University of Lomé.
