Catering at the University of Lomé

Students can eat either in the university restaurant or in the catering areas provided for those with limited income (catering areas, leisure areas or the so-called Gayibor market).

University Restaurant

Since 2016, the university restaurant has been sold to a private company, the Richman LOGOS Company, as part of a public-private partnership. It officially opened its doors on January 10, 2018.The student dish (starter, main course menu, hors d’oeuvre) is served at 500 FCFA . However, this rate is subsidized by the University, which pays 270 FCFA including tax to the company for each tray served. Students are only allowed to have a maximum of two dishes per lunch/dinner. Access to the restaurant is conditional on presentation of the student card.

Personnel Catering

For University staff, the rates are as follows per full tray served:

  • 2000 FCFA for teacher-researchers
  • 1500 FCFA for administrative, technical and service staff

The restaurant is also open to the outside public at 5000 FCFA per platter served.

Weekend buffets (Sundays) are served at the following prices:

  • Teachers-researchers, PATS and their companions: 3500 FCFA
  • Children of UL staff:2500 FCFA
  • External: 5000 FCFA
Quality Control and Monitoring

A monitoring committee composed of the 2nd vice-president in charge of university life, the Director of COUL and the Director of Service Delivery controls the quality of the restaurant’s services university.

The restaurant is closed to students during university holidays. Tickets are sold inside the restaurant.
