A Doctoral School (ED) is a federation of research structures (Teams, Laboratories, Centers, Institutes) brought together around doctoral training projects covering one or more scientific fields. It brings together university research structures, doctors and doctoral students in sufficient numbers to create a community.
There is no official ED at the University of Lomé (UL) but there are 33 doctoral training structures spread across all areas of training at UL. However, the University of Lomé has created a committee to set up EDs whose work is in progress.

The strategy in the service of this ambition is, on the one hand, to establish effective and legitimate research governance in its decisions and to propose, on the other hand, a structuring of research according to strong axes which feed of the dense capillarity of research carried out at the scale of each University Research Structure.
