Continuing education at UL

Continuing education is one of the missions assigned to the University of Lomé, along with initial training and research. To cope with increasingly significant and rapid changes on the structural, economic and technological levels, the University of Lomé has set up a Continuing Training Center (CFC)

About CFC

The CFC is a sub-directorate of the Directorate of Academic Affairs and Education (DAAS) of the University of Lomé. It is headed by a Manager and has three divisions:

  • Courses and training division;
  • Labor Relations Division;
  • Monitoring and certifications division.

The CFC was created on October 11, 2004 by Order No. 0007/CP/2004, and restructured by Order No. 043/UL/P/SG/2018.

Main Missions

The main mission of the CFC is to welcome and support adults returning to studies.

As such, he is responsible for:

  • ensure the development of tailor-made skills at the request of employees, administrative services and establishments of the University of Lomé;
  • to mobilize and coordinate the educational skills of the University of Lomé to build:

1.       training adapted to specific requests from companies, professionals, communities, administrations and other institutions external to UL;

2. individualized training courses responding to the needs expressed on an individual basis.

Types of training

The main mission of the CFC is to welcome and support adults returning to studies.

As such, he is responsible for:

  • Degree courses: designed to meet the needs of the job market. They result in the award of a diploma.
  • Qualifying training: carried out at the request (à la carte) of public or private organizations to meet their development or recruitment needs. They can also contribute to the integration of graduates looking for work.
  • Certifying training: giving rise to a University Diploma (DU), an Interuniversity Diploma (DIU), Professional Qualification Certificates, specific Certificates or Accreditations;
  • Qualifying training giving rise to a Training Certificate and a Certificate of Participation.

It is open to continuing education with diplomas, three Licenses and two professional Masters at the University of Lomé.

I - Professional Licenses

  1. Professional Degree in Journalism (2018-2020)

The professional degree in journalism at ISICA is a training course spread over two years after a Validation of Professional Acquired Procedure.

  • Target audience

Information professionals in the written press, online press, radio or television.

  • Conditions

Bac II + 5 years of experience in written press, online press, radio or television.

  1. Professional license Tax accounting (2018-2021)

The Accounting-Taxation license aims to provide companies with middle managers capable of producing financial statements to avoid conflicts with the tax authorities.

  • Target audience

Company employees, civil servants or tax administration agents interested in the profession of accountant.

  • Conditions

Civil servant or employee holding a BAC II (series C, D, G2 and G3), or one of the following diplomas: DUT, DEUG, BTS in management.

  • Outlets

Tax administration agent; Accountant in companies; Accounting assistant in accounting and tax consulting firms.

Graduates of the Professional License in Accounting and Taxation can continue their studies at Master’s level or occupy key positions in public enterprises, public establishments (hospitals) or in central administration and local NGO.

LPCF graduates easily integrate into the private sector (banking and financial institutions, microfinance, industrial and commercial companies, service companies). They also fit easily into NGOs and the public sector (the Administration and state-owned companies or companies).

  1. Professional degree in French-Chinese-French interpreting and translation (2018-2021)

The Professional License in Interpreting-Translation is spread over three years after a Validation of Professional Acquired Procedure.

BAC II all series combined or any professional who can demonstrate proven and capitalizable experience

  • Outlets

Foreign and Togolese companies, self-employability in the business world. Teaching Chinese in middle and high schools with additional training in pedagogy.

II - Professional Masters

  1. Professional Master Applied Economics

The Master in Applied Economics, spread over two years, aims to help learners understand the major current discussions on economic development issues, including the challenges, constraints and opportunities for developing countries for effective decision-making.

  • Target audience

Students, company employees, civil servants or administration agents.

  • Conditions

Students, civil servants or employees holding an LMD degree, a Master’s degree or any diploma deemed equivalent.

  1. Professional Master Accounting, Control, Audit (2018-2020)

The Master in Accounting Audit Control spread over two years, aims to prepare students for careers in accounting, management control, auditing, finance and more generally train specialists in the professions figures in organizations.

  • Target audience

Students, accounting professionals from public and private companies, employees of accounting, auditing and internal auditor firms, financial analysts and agents of financial institutions.

  • Conditions

Students, civil servants or employees holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Control Audit, or any diploma deemed equivalent.
